WARREN, Mich. - Climate friendly fuel cell vehicles that run on hydrogen could be on the road with regular drivers behind the wheel in a few test areas within five or six years, according to a top General Motors Corp. official.

Larry Burns, vice president of research and development, offered the prediction this week as GM announced it has moved 500 fuel cell engineers and scientists from the laboratory side of the company into the chain of command that actually produces cars.

Burns said he’s not yet willing to say exactly when hydrogen vehicles will be mass produced, but he said it should happen before 2020, the year many experts have predicted.

WASHINGTON, June 22, 2007 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture will publish an interim final rule that will amend USDA’s National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List) to include 38 minor ingredients recommended by the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) during meetings in May 2002 and March 2007. The interim final rule, which is effective as of June 21, 2007, will also provide a 60-day period for additional comment on the amendments.

The 38 minor ingredients contained in the interim final rule are non-organic, agricultural ingredients that may be considered for use in an “organic” processed product. A minor ingredient cannot comprise more than 5 percent of an “organic” product. Before an organic handling operation can consider using a non-organic, agricultural minor ingredient, the organic form of the ingredient must be first sourced and confirmed unavailable.

Yes that is right, we said to recycle your plastic bags, such as bags you get at the grocery store. It may be a pain in the rear at firt making the change, but you will be making a great impact on the planet by doing so.

Every year, Americans throw away 100 billion polyethylene plastic bags, and less than 1 percent of them are recycled. Geesh, that is allot of trash!

The plastic bags take up to 1,000 years to dissolve. That is a long time. So if you throw one away today think about it like this… That same bag will be around when your great great great great great great great great great grandchildren are born!

Now, when they do dissolve they leave dangerous toxins behind.

Instead of taking new plastic bags every time you leave a store, put your purchases in a reusable bag or use the bags have you saved.

Ikea has gone an extra step to try and help by charging its customers 5 cents for each plastic bag they use , and they donate that money to charity. What a good idea, to try and get people to recycle their plastic bags.

Some people will not care about the 5 cents they get changed, but many will do anything to save on expenses.

I have been using the same bags for almost a year now. It is funny becuase the ladies at the stores always look at me like I am nuts for bring my own bags, but honestly I do not mind at all. So, when they ask why I bring my own and not get new ones, it gives me a chance to talk about the important issue at hand and that is saving our planet for the next generations to come!

I am always shocked to read the horrible stories of people getting hurt or event killed by products sold at many stores such as walmart or even kmart.

It is a shame the FDA does not have to approve every product sold to people, because many people have no clue about the real dangers of many products on he market today.

On June 10, 2007 a 17 year old a cross-country runner at Notre Dame Academy on Staten Island, passed away after her body absorbed high levels of methyl salicylate, an anti-inflammatory found in sports creams such as Bengay and Icy Hot, the New York City medical examiner said Friday.

The young girl was using a sports pain relief cream and adhesive pads containing the anti-inflammatory.

I am shocked to even hear those products contain poisions that seep into the skin! I guess I should have know they had to contain somthing to work so well.

The products she was using were used and the chemical absorbed over time. Caused of death was Methyl salicylate poisoning.

Dr. Ronald Grelsamer of Mount Sinai Medical Center said Newman had a very abnormal amount of methyl salicylate in her body.

“She either lathered herself with it, or used way too much, or she used a normal amount and an abnormal percentage was absorbed into her body,” he said.

This goes to show that OVER THE COUNTER DRUGS CAN and ARE LEATHAl! It does not matter if you use to much or too less, if it can absorb into your skin and kill you, it is dangerous to have in your home peroid!

Johnson & Johnson, the makers of Bengay, expressed sympathy for the family and reminded consumers about “the importance of reading the label on this and all over-the- counter medicines to ensure safe and proper use,” in a statement released Saturday.

COME ON and give me a break! This girl died using their products and that was all they could say? Who cares if she used it 1 time or 3 times, it was a cream you run on your body to relax pain. In my mind, if it is that dangerous, RED labels sould be posted all over the bottle!
